Northallerton Represent the NCPF at Connah's Quay
Three of our members, including our Vice-Chairman travelled to Connah's Quay in North Wales last saturday (24th October) with our Club's entry into the PAGB Print Club Championship. Together with Sunderland PA, we were representing the Fedration at the event, in our case for the third time in recent years. A total of 34 clubs from throughout the United Kingdon took part.

In the First Round we submitted the 12 prints chosen by the club and scored 141 points out of a possible 180. Whilst we ended up joint 14th, remarkedly the same score as Sunderland, we fell only 8 points short of eight place which would have qualified us for the Final Round. In the Plate Competition, for those clubs that do not reach the Fianl Round, we scored 61 with our 5 prints and again finished in the middle of the field. The Championship was won by Wigan 10 after a tie-break round with Smthwick PS.

Three of our members succeeded in gaining scores of 13 (out of 15):

Steve Byard with "About to Turn"

Dave Coates with "Sunset on the Salt Pans" and "Hard Times" and

John Webster with "Rufus Naped Lark"

Our congratulations go to them, but also to evereyone else who contributed prints to our entry, whether or not we were able to use them or not. It is only with such support that we were able to put up such a creditable performance both for our club and for the Federation.

Special congratulations though go to Henrietta Byrne and Sheila Coates for sharing three awards between them.
