| Northallerton CC win again at Washington Northallerton Camera Club was again well represented at the Northern Counties Photographice Federation's Club Championships. We enetered both the Prints and the Slides Sections. In the Prints section we won through to the final round where we were placed 5th, a very creditable performance. In the Slides Section the Club once again was judged to be the winners overall, for the sixth time in recent years. This means that Northallerton CC will be representing the Federation at this year's National Club Championships to be held at Warwick on Saturday 12th July 2008. Well done to Gordon Follows, one of our country members who was awarded the prize for the best individual slide in the competition. This will be the 10th time in eleven years that the club has had this honour and our congratulations go to all those who entered their work into the prestigeous event or helped in any way. |

| Results for Northallerton CC Members from the 28th Northern Counties International Projected Image Exhibition I have been entering the Northern Counties International Exhibitions now for some 12 years and I can honestly say that our members have never enjoyed a more successful exhibition overall. A total of six club members submitted a total of 80 entries into to the four sections of this exhibition, ie General Slides, Nature Slides, Photo-Travel Slides and General Electronic Images. We had 15 acceptances in the General Section, 11 in the Nature Section, 12 in the Photo-Travel Section and 3 in the Electronic Section. Across the board with over 3,000 entries from a total of 42 countries world wide the average was that about one in four entries were accepted. In Northallerton’s case a total of 41 entries means that one in two were accepted. All six persons who entered the exhibition gained acceptances. Henrietta Byrne LRPS gained one acceptance, Dave Coates ARPS, MPAGB, EFIAP, PPSA - nine; Gordon Follows ARPS, MPAGB, EFIAP/b - ten; Sandy Furniss ARPS, MPAGB, EFIAP/s, PPSA - eight; Chris Morton DPAGB - six; and John Webster ARPS, MPAGB - seven. Our success did not stop there though, with four members winning some 10 awards in total. John Webster won the Northumbria Trophy for the Best Entry by an NCPF worker and a Certificate of Merit for another entry, both in the General Section. Chris Morton won a Certificate of Merit in the General Section. Gordon Follows won PSA Red Ribbon and a Certificate of Merit in Nature, but also Judges Medal and the Northumbria Trophy in Photo-Travel. Dave Coates won Certificate of Merit in the Nature Section PSA Red Ribbon in the Photo-Travel Section, and finally PSA Gold Medal for the Best Traditional Slide in the General Section. We should also not lose sight of the fact that once again one of our members, Miles Langthorne was chosen to act as one of the three Selectors in the Nature Section. |
