The club has, with breaks during WWII, met continuously since its inauguration in 1933 and our members enjoy a dynamic programme with an interesting and varied series of events throughout each season.    Every evening is a pleasant social occasion at which members can share tips and experiences on all aspects of photography.
We also enjoy friendly relationships with neighbouring clubs; as well as competing with them, either individually or collectively at regional events.
The 2008/09 season promises to be a little special, as we shall be celebrating the
75th Anniversary with a number of special events.
The club has been a member of the NYSD
(North Yorkshire & South Durham Photographic Association)
since its inception in 1952
In 1993 we joined the NCPF  (Northern Counties Photographic Federation) became affiliated to the PAGB (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain).
As "Winners" of the NCPF Slide Championship this year, we will be representing the Northern Counties at both the PAGB National Slide Championships, at Warwick, for the 10th time in eleven years.
